Typology of political risks in the system of functioning of government bodies

The article attempts to identify existing approaches to risk classification. It investigates the causes of risk situations, which include uncertainty, the necessity of making choices, and the lack of information and time for its processing. Attention is drawn to the ambiguity and internal inconsistency of political risk. The subjects and objects of political risk are identified, and the primary factors and causes of risk are defined. Additionally, the article presents the main methods for assessing political risk. Typological approaches are examined, with a particular emphasis on those of a theoretical and methodological nature, as they allow for a detailed exploration of the issues surrounding political risks and pave the way for subsequent development of specific types of political risks, their sources, and contributing factors. However, the typologies formed through the application of an analytical approach represent only an intermediate outcome. The author concludes that the formation of a theoretical foundation for managing political risks necessitates the creation of a model of the phenomenon under investigation based on the results obtained. This process requires the application of synthetic and systemic approaches, underscoring the complexity and multifaceted nature of political risks in the context of government bodies functioning.
