Typomorphgic characteristics of zircon as a criterion for subdivision and correlation of granitoids (on an example of the northern part of the Subpolar Urals)

We confirmed the idea that the species belonged to three granitoid complexes of different age: Early Proterozoic Nikolaihsor, Middle-Late Riphean Kozhim (Manhambo) and Vendian-Early Cambrian Salner-Manhambo (Salner) based on the study of morphological features of zircons from granites of different massifs from the Northern Subpolar Urals and on the generation analysis data. They differ by the set of morphological types of zircons with specific genetic and generational characteristics and distribution of impurity elements. The results of zircon study confirm geological data that the deepest rocks by crystallization conditions are Nikolaihsor complex granites, which are isofacial metamorphic rocks of amphibolite facies of moderate pressure, and less deep rocks - kozhim (Manhambo) complex granites, which formation level is determined by the thickness of enclosing puyvinskaya suite - about 1.5 km. These data demonstrate wide possibilities of use of accessory zircon to solve problems of genesis, correlation and other problems of magmatic geology.
