Types of development of the grain industry in the regions of Russia

The dynamics of grain production, cereals and leguminous crops for the period from 2005 to 2019 has been investigated. The main grain producing regions have been identified. The characteristic is given to the extensive and intensive type of production development. The assessment of the types of development of the grain industry for the leading regions is carried out. There is a clearly expressed tendency to increase grain production, both in the country and in the main regions. The development of the grain industry in the leading regions indicates that there is a fundamental difference in the nature of production.
