The types of Russian distaffs in Siberia: techniques of their manufacture

This article first provides information on the ways and methods of manufacture of root or whole spinning wheels in use a single trunk of a tree with a root and of a composite in use the different trees. Usually art historians and ethnographers describe the distaves as the subject of artistic values. The manufacture of this necessary in everyday life of the Russian peasant published scanty. We attempt to show some techniques for making different forms of spinning wheels in Siberia.
