Thyroid and glucocorticoid status of patients with benign and malignant pathology of the breast

Blood concentration of general and free forms of thyroid hormones, thyrotrophin and cortisole has been studied with radioimmune method in 96 patients with malignant breast tumors and in 25 patients with fibrocystic disease. Disturbances in function of thyroid gland, balance in ratio of general and free forms of thyroid hormones and cortisole-producing activity of adrenal cortex that depended on the stage of the disease and the form of the process have been revealed. No shifts from the norm of the studied hormonal parameters have been observed in patients with benign breast disease
