In the article the semantic field of ethnotoponyms of the near Yenisei region of Siberia is analyzed with the purpose of revelation of ethnocultural information. The cause-and-effect relations are revealed between a concept and an object. The appearance of ethnotoponyms is caused by the contacts situation of Russian people with local habitants in the 17th century when the appropriation of ethnonym names made the mental border called mine - anothers.
