US-China trade war: economic causes and consequences

Trade and economic cooperation between the United States and China over the past five years has not been fruitful. The article examines the reasons for the emergence of the confrontation between the two world powers, the instruments of their waging a trade war. An analysis of mutual trade (export and import of goods and services) for 2019 is also carried out, which demonstrates the close economic ties between the United States and China. The desire of the United States to protect national security interests and strengthen its position in important sectors of the world economy has pushed to challenge China's dynamically developing economy.
