The philosophy of education has been a component of the operational thinking of "great philosophers" for a long time and has developed as a supplement of the fundamental principles of their concepts to one of the areas of social and cultural reality - education. In the 20th century, major thinkers reflected on the problems of education, proposed projects of new educational institutions (for example V. Dilthey, D. Dewey, M. Buber, K. Jaspers, A. N. Whitehead). Although the problems of education have always been of great importance in philosophical concepts, the philosophy of education as an independent research area appeared only in the 20th century. The philosophy of education holds pride of place in philosophy teaching in all Western European countries. The World Philosophical Congress (1998) is devoted to the problems of education, plenary sessions, symposia and colloquiums are directly related to the philosophy of education. It is still difficult to determine the status of the philosophy of education, its interrelation with general philosophy, on the one hand, and with pedagogical theory and practice, on the other...
