Traditions as a means of formation of social adaptive abilities of a student and development of creative ones on example of the Maslenitsa holiday

The authors consider the main approaches to the concepts of socially adaptive abilities, creativity, traditions, and investigate the interrelation of these concepts. The article describes conditions created for students in Gzhel State University; and indicates the role of traditions in the educational process. The authors give a detailed report on the celebration of Maslenitsa. It was introduced into the educational process as traditional holiday for this educational institution. The paper presents the results of the sociological questionnaire that was developed and tested, gives recommendations for the pedagogical staff, and suggests interesting forms of interaction with tourists, school students and pupils of kindergartens about the celebration of Maslenitsa.
