The zonal federation literary of the Volga region is 55 years old. It was created on the initiative of literary departments of Kuibyshev State Pedagogical Institute (now Samara State Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities). In May 1960, the first conference of the Volga region literary was held in KSPI, which was attended by 12 universities of the Volga region. Over 55 years of the association 34 conferences have been held. Today the association involves over 50 departments. If, in the 60-s, the participants only came from departments of teacher training colleges, now both colleges and universities, as well as literary departments of other Volga region universities are represented.
