The article presents the author's analysis of the state of traditional pottery in the village of Bolshoe Kazarinovo, Nizhny Novgorod region in the 1960s-80s. The Kazarinovsky pottery industry has been known since the XVI century, and the history of the craft naturally reflects the special features and traditions of Russian national culture. The period of the 1960s-1980s is a fundamentally new stage of its development, associated with the organization of a pottery workshop in the village. In addition, the materials and the product range have undergone changes. The presented information on the history of the craft, a description of its artistic system, illustrated with examples from the collection of the Nizhny Novgorod Museum-Reserve, are designed to help in the attribution of pottery by Kazarin craftsmen.
