The article focuses on the disclosure of ethno-cultural characteristics of one of the foreign groups of Russian Cossacks, Old Believers, over three hundred years ago leaving the Russian Empire. The value of this work is in the introduction to the scientific field of new ethnographic data collected by the author directly to modern people in the area of Varna Lake (village Kazashka, Varna region of Bulgaria). New ethnographic data show the presence in the culture of the Bulgarian Old Believers a elements of the Southern Russian origin, traditions of the Terek Cossacks, some groups of Old Believers in Siberia in the late XIX - early XX century.
