Traditional gender types and their interaction

The aim of this article is to explore how masculinity and femininity relate to each other and how they form a single gender complex. The authors of the article analyzed what is the essence of the content of traditional gender types and what is the relationship between them within the framework of gender culture. Having identified the structure of these concepts, the authors examined their specific content and the aspects that define them: the social roles traditionally associated with individuals’ gender, sociocultural representations of ideal character traits of subjects from different gender groups, and the types of men and women. In discussing the outlined problematics, the research approach employed was the categorization of the subjects based on traits of femininity and masculinity. According to the authors, these characteristics are the most significant in gender differentiation. Based on these traits, a list of key qualities of the ideal man and woman is compiled. By delineating the social and cultural dimensions of gender, the article offers insights into how these dimensions influence individual behavior and societal expectations.
