Traditional Russian spiritual and moral values and life orientations of modern youth

The article comprehends the role and place of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values in the socialization and life orientations of modern youth. It emphasizes the necessity to preserve traditional Russian values as the foundation of the country’s integrity and spiritual unity. On the basis of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated back to 2022 the key components of the traditional Russian spiritual and moral values are listed, and the proposition that these values constitute the spiritual core of the Russian culture and are significant in the value consciousness of modern youth, is substantiated on the basis of the analysis of the scientific literature and research materials. Some contradictions in the value orientations of the younger generation are noted. The causes and main vectors of their overcoming are highlighted.
