Traditional war games of the Don Cossacks of the XVIII century

Modern ethnosport competitions of the Don Cossacks require historical and ethnographic justification. The problem of authenticity of modern games is solved by referring to historical sources. For the Don Cossacks, such sources can be the works of early historians and ethnographers, as well as materials contained in the archives of the Rostov region.
