The paper examines the development of the concept of biopolitics in the Western philosophical tradition, analyzes the ontological parameters of time and space inherent in this concept. A brief overview of various approaches to understanding biopolitics is given. A number of theoretical provisions of certain areas of biopolitical research are revealed. The analysis of the views of various authors on the essence of biopolitics makes it possible to identify specific problems of certain tendencies to expand the scope of the concept. It is concluded that any change in the context of the concept under study is associated with the transformation of its ontological parameters. The results obtained in the course of the research allow us to see the potential for the development of biopolitics, dictated by the lack of approaches that successfully work with both the aspect of time and the aspect of space of this concept.
