Transformation of acrylonitrile by nitrilase immobilized on activated and non-activated chitosan

The enzyme preparation containing the nitrilase isolated from Pseudomonas fluorescens C2 was immobilized on unmodified and benzoquinone activated chitosan. Nitrilase activity, operation stability and dependence of activity of immobilized enzyme preparation from the reaction temperature were studied. It is shown that the covalent attachment with the carrier leads to higher operation stability and maintains a higher activity under the temperature of 70-80°C.
