Transformation of the value system of the modern text

The relevance of the article is determined by the transformations taking place in social reality and reflected in the language in general and in the production of texts in particular. By using the metaphor of the “text death”, the authors of this article consider the transformation and development of the very common concept (designated by the term “communicative intention”) that determines the capacity for textual activity to function in modern realities. The aim of the article is to argue that the main characteristics of topical information, understood as a unit of communication, are its triggering potential and its ability to act as online content (liquidity). The article examines different perspectives on the phenomenon in question and draws well-reasoned conclusions. Based on serious sociological discourse, the authors emphasize that the attributes characteristic of the text in its traditional interpretation, namely coherence and integrity, i.e. the ability to demonstrate qualities of a “system”, are gradually losing importance in social practices. As a result of the analysis, a conclusion is made about the “end” of the interpretation of the modern text and textual activity familiar to the former science.
