The article was born out of the need for an analysis of the intense and dynamic changes taking place in journalism. The study uses quantitative methods of traditional concrete sociological research combined with qualitative methods of media measurements. A representative sample array of media texts from 2003-2023 was used. The analysis focuses on the forms of media resources and their journalistic texts of various genres. The results confirm the trends outlined earlier and also identifies new and insufficiently obvious trends. The grounds for an updated classification of resources and genres are presented. Media resources used in this study include specialized thematic and educational media projects, a student newspaper, a media community, a social media page (group) of a creative association, a proprietary media resource, and a platform for the production of media products. Defining characteristics of modern media genres as multimedia, interactivity and hypertextuality were detected and the phenomenon of textual convergence between resources and intra-resource genre convergence (multi-genre) was noted. The objectivity of actualizing and developing the generalized genre story with possible modifications social story, useful story, etc. is substantiated. The reasons for the emergence of new genres (fan fiction), development (review), or decline (travel essay, feuilleton) of previously popular texts are determined.
