Transformation of gender aspects of the development of Buryatia economy in the 1990-2000s

The article considers the socioeconomic status of women in the Republic of Buryatia in the 1990s. The consequences of radical economic reforms in the economic status of the women are studied. The changes in the living conditions of the women of Buryatia are in the field of economic development, social protection, legal systems. The study of that period allows a deeper understanding of the social problems of the women in modern Buryatia, ways and methods to solve them. The reforms in the economic and political relations in society in the 1990s were accompanied by a significant deterioration of the socioeconomic status of the women of Buryatia redistribution in the structure of employment and economic dominance of female unemployment, a decrease in the number of women in positions of power, feminization of poverty. The transition to a new economic system was accompanied by rise of qualitatively new problems that significantly deteriorated women’s social well-being.
