Transformation of ethnicity and post-Soviet transit: methodological issues of research

The article deals with methodological issues of studying the transformation of ethnicity in the conditions of post-Soviet transit. The authors substantiate the importance of a political and sociological analysis of the prerequisites and factors of ethnicity transformation in the conditions of post-Soviet socio-political transit for building a conceptual scheme for analyzing the phenomenon of ethnicity in the context of problems related to the stability and variability of social phenomena, processes, structures and institutions.
