The article presents the results of a research into current-context changes in the conceptual content of strategic management as reflected in the works by world-renowned experts in this field. The author evaluates and proposes a vision of the position of innovative activity management (as applied to the hotel industry) within the overall strategic management framework, further substantiating the expediency of Russian hotel industry adopting the innovation-based development strategies.
