The article describes transformations in the men's Pancake week festive culture of the Russian rural population of Western Siberia in the years of collectivization. The research is based on the field materials obtained during the expedition to the villages of the Kemerovo region in 2018. Ethnographic materials show that the process of collectivization as well as reforms in culture and religion led to a certain transformation in Pancake week customs and rituals with the main participation of men such as horse riding, horse racing, and all sorts of power contests (wrestling, stick fighting, fisticuffs) resulting in their simplification, change in the age of the main participants, exclusion of certain elements of the rites. In general, this process was characterized by the movement toward monotony, appearance of a supralocal version of male Pancake week ritual.
