Transformation of the main functions of journalism in the modern broadcast system of Russia

Using the programming policy of Channel One Russia as an example, the article proves that entertainment and propaganda are becoming the priority functions of the modern Russian television, while other functions like information and education are either substituted by them or implemented to a limited extent. This tendency causes a lack of consumer confidence in the modern TV product, which in turn leads to a decrease of audience activity.
