Transformation of industrial structure of the region: from old industrial to innovation (the example RUHR)

The article deals with the problems of the sectoral structure of those regions, which are referred to the so-called «old industrial» in the economic theory. The concept «old» describes the ability of the region to economic renewal. This process is carried out extremely slowly in «old» regions, and even is not observed at all. One of the regions of Germany - Ruhr is considered to be as a positive example of transformation.
