Transformation of the paradigm of strategic management of the domestic oil and gas complex

The article presents the results of the author’s research into the evolution of the concept of strategic management and critical understanding of the implementation of the tools of individual schools of strategizing in the oil and gas complex. A proposal has been made to revise the existing paradigm of industry strategizing, implemented in the oil and gas complex at the present stage of its development, in terms of shifting the objective focus from the internal environment to the external environment and changing the nature and role of strategic tools in management. It is proposed to differentiate the content of strategic management of the oil and gas complex depending on the specification of the subject projection (in terms of considering the functioning or development of oil and gas complexes) into quantum strategizing and foresight strategizing, which differ in the horizon and direction of management influence. Based on the study of a significant array of thematic distinctions, the author’s interpretations of these terms are proposed.
