Soil transformation on the coasts of Irkutsk reservoir and lake Baikal (within the boundaries of Irkutsk oblast) due to the influence of fluctuations in the level of reservoirs

As a result of the conducted and geochemical studies of the soil, we have revealed the stage of hydrogenic transformation of the soils in periodically flooded areas of the western and southern coasts of Baikal, including Irkutsk Reservoir. The indicators are selected and a scale is proposed for scoring the hydrogenic transformation of the soils and the soil covering. The environmental damage directed to the soil covering of the coastal territory as a result of the influence of fluctuations in the level of reservoirs is evaluated.
