Transformation of political culture in Russia with informatization of society

The transformation of social and political life associated with the democratization of the political system and the digitalization of society has made the study of the political culture in modern society a challenging research area in political science. Political culture acts as a focus for comparative political and sociological research in the international practice of studying political phenomena, as well as in Russian and, in particular, regional political science. This is caused by attempts to understand the changes that have taken place in the political, social and economic life of the country over the past three decades. Many researchers are looking for answers to such questions as the changes in the political consciousness and behavior of Russians, the values and attitudes that prevail in modern society, the role of traditions and stereotypes in political culture. Another reason for the actualization of political culture study is the development of modern means and technologies of communication and the spread of the Internet among the public, which can be described as a trend in the digitalization of modern society. Research on the influence of information technology and the Internet on the political consciousness and behavior has become vital to determine the prospects for the development of the political system.
