The UAE is a country with a distinctive legal system, which is intertwined with both religious norms and norms of domestic and international law. The elements of the system are in difficult balance. Reproductive rights and family relations in general, for a long time, being under the pressure of traditional religious views, have recently received a new interpretation and regulation, which is interesting from the point of view of analysis. Purpose: to analyse the legal regulation transformation of reproductive rights in the UAE in light of the complex balance between traditional spiritual values and modern approaches to human rights. Methods: empirical methods of comparison, description, and interpretation; theoretical methods of formal and dialectical logic. Results: the authors conclude that in recent years, there have been significant changes in the legal regulation of reproductive rights in the UAE. A number of legal acts were adopted which gave new content to rights, expanded access to reproductive technologies, consolidated guarantees for women’s rights and laid the foundation for the prevention of genetic diseases, reflecting the state’s commitment to improving the quality of life.
