The article discusses the development of legal regulation of labor relations through the prism of changes of the Labor Code of the USSR in different years as well as other legal documents regulating labor relations in the country, since the revolutionary events of 1917, through the weakening of its value when in the second world war of 1941-1945 all the country was put on to the "military labor situation" and up to the creation of the new Labor Code of the Russian Federation in 2002.
