Transformation of family values as the fulfillment of the population's social needs

The study discusses the transformation problem of family values as the fulfillment of the population’s social needs that are generated while building human civilization, developing social relationships as well as during their functioning. A person’s need for family and the state family policies are determined by the significance of family values in the society, their place in the value system of the personality. Nevertheless, the current attitude of the society to family and marriage is characterized by a high level of uncertainty; the family way of life ceases to be perceived as mandatory. This situation is associated with the dominance of the non-family and material assets over the family ones. Therefore, such core elements of family values as marriage and parenthood compete with the values of freedom, material well-being, prosperity and successful career. The trends revealed are confirmed by the analysis of the statistical data.
