Transformation of the general education system: the contribution of the university community (1990s-2010s)

The article presents information on the transformation of the general education system in the Russian Federation, based on materials detailing changes in the development of school education in the Republic of Buryatia from the 1990s to the 2010s. An attempt is made to identify the contribution of the university community, primarily the faculty of BSPI-BSU, to the modification of school natural science and humanities curricula and the introduction of scientific technologies into school education through collaboration between individual university instructors and student groups from schools in the republic. Based on published documents and materials, the article concludes that higher education personnel played a fundamental role in shaping new meanings and approaches within the school education system.
