Structure changes of North Altaic elite (the 1910-1920s)

Article is devoted to transformation the national elite of Kumandins, Tubalars and Chelkans in the 1910-1920 th years. The Altai clerical mission made the national intellectuals. They became teachers, missionaries and other employees of mission. The national elite was under control to the Altai spiritual mission. Its main function was educational. In 1917 there is a national movement in Altai. The part of the North Altai elite takes part in it. At the same time “old ” elite clean out from political life of the region. This process comes to the end in the first years of the Soviet power. The new stage of formation the North Altai intellectuals begins, but already loyal Soviet power.
