This paper considers the features of the development of globalization and regionalization in the modern world and shows how they impact the social processes in the transboundary area of Russia and Mongolia. It is shown that regionalization as one of the vectors of globalization processes contributes to the integration of a number of countries at the regional level. Therefore, studies of cross-border territories as complex-structured social spaces are of particular importance. The Russian-Mongolian trans-border region, which has been formed during a long historical period, is nowadays one of the determining factors of integration interactions in the Central Asian region and in the Eurasian area. Modern Russian and Mongolian societies, being post-socialist in nature, are going through the processes of social transformation, and under the influence of globalization, as well as contacts in the economic, political and cultural spheres, they are looking for balanced ways of implementing interaction. The intensification of Russian-Mongolian relations in recent years has necessitates the study of all facets of interaction between these countries in all spheres of public life.
