The paper analyzes the philosophical concepts rethought by transhumanism: living, man, mind, existence, nature, evolution. These concepts constitute the ideological context for the use of NBIC-technologies. It is shown that the basic concept in the NBIC-convergence paradigm is 'system’, which blurs the boundaries between living and non-living, the animal and man, the animal, man and the robot. Man is defined as a system that is no different from animals and computers. It is concluded that the transhumanist picture of the world, within which NBIC-technologies are created and used, destroys man in perspective both as a biological species and as a social being, deprives him of his existence. The actualization of humanist values, which have been worked out by mankind during the whole history of its existence in various spiritual spheres, science, religion, philosophy, art, and socialist ideas is a challenge to the transhumanist project and the transnational capital that promotes it at the global level.
