Translanguaging as a variation of educational policy in linguistic didactics represented in current research in the English language

Currently, researchers worldwide are actively developing the idea of translanguaging as a pedagogical method, communicative practice, educational and social ideology, as well as linguistic theory. A review of a number of theoretical and practical English-language scientific publications is given, revealing the main ideas of respective scholars about translanguaging as an educational policy that allows expanding the possibilities of linguistic didactics. It is demonstrated that translanguaging theorists propose to improve the practice of teaching foreign languages by abandoning the dominant ideologies of monolingual education.
