Хирургическое лечение патологии краниоспинальной области и краниовертебрального перехода представляет одну из сложных проблем в нейрохирургии, так как в патологический процесс вовлекаются ствол головного мозга, мозжечок, черепные нервы мосто-мозжечкового угла (ММУ), спинальные нервы, позвоночная (ПА) и базилярная артерии (БА) и их ветви, костные структуры и суставносвязочный аппарат краниовертебрального сочленения. В зависимости от распространения процесса применяют различные доступы к зоне краниовертебрального перехода и области большого затылочного отверстия, в том числе анализированный нами far lateral (крайне латеральный) доступ.
