The article presents the results of an empirical study of teachers’ opinions about their professional deficiencies and educational needs. The concept of professional deficiencies is given and their comparative analysis is carried out in relation to the areas of teachers’ success. Barriers that impede the filling of professional deficiencies of teachers in the system of continuous professional pedagogical education are identified, and conditions for overcoming these barriers are proposed.
