Injuries of rural residents in the workplace and at home

Due to the high mortality rate of the population, including rural residents from injury, the aim of this study was to perform an analysis of the dynamics of indicators of injury in agriculture of the Russian Federation, as well as identifying the circumstances and causes of home injuries among rural population. Analysis of injuries in agriculture was conducted according to the statistical reporting of Federal state statistics service of the Russian Federation and the Federal service for labour and employment, Ministry of labour and social development of the Russian Federation. It was found that despite the reduction in absolute and relative indicators of the level of the General traumatism in agriculture, hunting and forestry in 2015 was one of the highest among all kinds of economic activities and exceeded the average value in Russia by 1.7 times, and the level of fatal injuries - by 1.9 times. It was found that the severity of injury of the rural population in the workplace and at home increases every year, and prolonged disability leads to labor shortage in agriculture. A comparison of the circumstances of the injury shows that the majority of accidents in the workplace and in everyday life happens in similar situations, and one of the main types of accidents is falls, including falls from height.
