Three-way sunflower hybrid Achilles was developed by crossing a sterile simple hybrid Kubansky 86 and paternal form VK 989 line-restorer of pollen fertility, multi-branched), combined with selection of a complex of economically valuable traits. It possesses complex resistance to the main pathogens (resistant to broomrape races A-E, downy mildew races 330, 710, 730, highly tolerant to phomopsis). The hybrid Achilles is very early maturing (a period from emergence to flowering is 45-50 days). It is characterized by optimal morphological and biological traits. Plant height of 160 cm certifies its high technological traits. Head is thin, convex, middle size (it promotes quick drying at maturing), has optimal inclination, and does not shatter. Good developed root system and strong stem make it resistant to lodging. The seeds formation is very high. Oil content in seeds is 48.0-50.0%. Thousand seeds weight is 68.0-70.0 g. On seed and oil yield per a unit of sowing area the hybrid Achilles exceeds the domestic standard hybrid Avangard...
