Three main topics of the art works of the far eastern artist Vladimir Starovoytov

The art works of Vladimir Starovoytov, a prominent Far Eastern artist, successfully combine art traditions of Modern time Western Europe, Old Russian art through the canons of Byzantine painting, and the art traditions of the Far East – Japan and China. Techniques of different eras and nations became a recognizable trait of artist’s style. The article focuses on three prevailing topics of Starovoytov’s art works: Christian, Japanese and musical themes. The analysis of the artist’s topics and methods allows to determine his creative method as “postmodern”.
