Three centuries served by the Russian police to the homeland: psychological lessons and conclusions (results of the anniversary international scientific conference)

Introduction. The anniversary international scientific conference «Three Centuries of Service by the Russian Police to the Fatherland: Psychological Lessons and Conclusions» was held at the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Actual issues of historical and psychological topics dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian police are considered. Reports Review. The main provisions of range of events carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dedicated to the anniversary of the national police are set out. The focus is made on the current problems of the history of the Russian police as the most important institution of the state, connected with fragmentation in memory and attempts of falsification. The idea of cooperation between the Institute and the Ministry for developing topical issues in the history of the national police was supported. The problem of the lessons of the history in training senior executives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is highlighted. The collective work is shown in the anthology «The History of the Law Enforcement System of Russia in documents: from ancient times to 1917». The role of the law enforcement agencies in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 is characterized, the Battle of Stalingrad taken as an example.. The place and role of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Empire in the state security system during the First World War are analyzed. The main scientific provisions illustrating the problems of the psychology of police history are considered. It is noted that the origins of the development of scientific support of law enforcement activity go back to the establishment and functioning of specialized national higher educational institutions in the Soviet period. At present, the personnel scientific potential of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is represented by 650 Doctors of Science and more than 4,100 Candidates of Science. Conclusions. The actual problems of the history of the Russian police as the most important institution of the state are highlighted. It is necessary to establish constructive links between the ongoing scientific research and historical work in the internal affairs bodies.
