Platelet-derived activity in elderly men with no obvious signs of pathology

Бесплатный доступ

Platelet aggregation recorded in vitro for older men showed age-dependent gain. We also noted a gradual increase in platelet activity in vivo with the increasing of the chronological age of the surveyed. This was manifested in the increase of the number of active blood cells as well as aggregates of various sizes. Due to the careful selection of the only clinically healthy elderly men the increased activity of platelets should be considered as the manifestation of the aging process, exposed to the environmental influences. Data on platelet activity can be used as a reference for the future research and clinical observations on the elderly men.
