Issues of translation of legal realia of Romano-Germanic and Anglo-Saxon legal systems

The article considers translation challenges of English and Russian terminology through the lens of difference of legal systems of the Russian Federation and English-speaking countries. The author provided a comparative overview of legal systems of Russia and English-speaking countries, figured out translation challenges, gave variants of translation of legal realiae that do not exist in Russian law, provided vivid examples of incongruity of meaning of terms of the USA and the UK.
