Turtas silica accumulation phase in Western Siberia

The paper analyzes the data on the paleogeographic situation, which existed in Western Siberia in Upper Oligocene time to localize areas, promising for siliceous rocks of Turtas formation. The considerable amount of X-ray amorphous biogenic opal gives wide possibilities of application of these rocks to produce a large range of building and insulating materials.
