Creative image of S.N. Makov

The article traces the formation and creative path of the composer S.N. Makov (Sergey Makemari), the autor of the first Mari oratorio “Muraltem myi jyvyrten” (“I sing joyfully”) and the first Mari church cantata “Kusoto” (“Sacred Grove”). The article viewes the creative heritage of S.N. Makov, considers the musical composition and the thematic development of the oratorio.
