Creative method “the text in the text” as a source of modernist game in the novel “The Gift” by V. Nabokov (with the example of the insert novel “The Biography of Chernyshevsky”)

The article examines the meaning of the method “the text in the text” in the game`s concept of the novel “The gift” by V. Nabokov. The author includes the biography of Chernyshevsky in the main text of the novel, reinterpreting true events of his biography through the prism of a parody for the sake of carrying out a philological game which exposes the stylistic method. The results of the study is the conclusion that the method “the text in the text” functions as the element of game poetics which demonstrates diversity of the literary text as the method of modeling art space.
