The memory of scientist and teacher E. A. Sudakova

The article is dedicated to the memory of Evgeniya Andreevna Sudakova - the plant scientist, algologist, and teacher. For many years E. A. Sudakova worked in the Irkutsk State Pedagogical Institute (later ISPU, ESSAO). The key issue of her scientific works was algology; a significant amount of early works is devoted to the geobotanical research. She contributed significantly to the study of soil and aerophilic algae of the Baikal region. In addition to the scientific research, E. A. Sudakova conducted a great pedagogical work, the results of which are still used in the teaching of the course “Botanies”. A huge number of her students remember her professional and personal qualities with gratitude. Many of them are currently employees of supplementary education organizations, researchers of the Siberian Institute of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry (SIPPB SB RAS), the Department of Science of the Pedagogical Institute of the ISU, teachers and principals of secondary schools. E. A. Sudakova made a significant contribution to the popularization of scientific knowledge, repeatedly being an organizer and member of expert commissions of academic competitions and school scientific and practical conferences of various levels.
