The article is devoted to the study of the creative heritage of the famous Russian composer, pianist and teacher N. K. Medtner, whose creative activity developed during the late nineteenth - first half of the twentieth century. The composer began his creative work in Russia in the era of the Silver Age, which was marked by a creative search for prominent representatives of the intelligentsia in various fields of science, culture and art. It is noted that even in emigration N.K. Medtner remained a true patriot of his homeland, calling himself a Russian composer, did not lose the precepts of that great time in which he was formed as a person. All these moods, experiences are reflected in his work, in which he sacredly kept all that was laid in him in his youth. Deeply comprehending his creations, he strove and found beauty and perfection in melody, harmony, all means of musical expressiveness. He strictly guarded the true Muse from the Fashion, which is superficial, constantly changing, changing itself.
