S. Dovlatov's works in the Russian literature traditions context (studies overview)

The article is devoted to the research of the artistic experience succession of Russian classics in the prose by S.Dovlatov, the writer - emigrant. Examining different points of view on genealogical roots in the Dovlatov's works and analyzing S.Dovlatov's aesthetic attitudes the author comes to the conclusion that S.Dovlatov is the Russian writer, not the western one, the Russian classical literature exerted the dominating influence on his prose.
